    Power Mode Selection
The Ninja® ZX™-6R supersport bike allows you to choose from Full Power or Low Power mode to suit the riding situation.

    ASSIST & SLIPPER CLUTCH

Based on feedback from racing activities, the Assist & Slipper Clutch uses two types of cams (an assist cam and a slipper cam) to either drive the clutch hub and operating plate together or apart.
Under normal operation, the assist cam functions as a self-servo mechanism, pulling the clutch hub and operating plate together to compress the clutch plates. This allows the total clutch spring load to be reduced, resulting in a lighter clutch lever feel when operating the clutch.

When excessive engine braking occurs - as a result of quick downshifts (or an accidental downshift) - the slipper cam comes into play, forcing the clutch hub and operating plate apart. This relieves pressure on the clutch plates to reduce back-torque and helps prevent the rear tire from hopping and skidding. This race-style function is particularly useful when sport or track riding.

    DUAL THROTTLE VALVES

Late-model sport bikes often use large-bore throttle bodies to generate high levels of power. However, with large diameter throttles, when a rider suddenly opens the throttle, the unrestricted torque response can be strong.
Dual throttle valve technology was designed to tame engine response while contributing to performance.

On models with dual throttle valves, there are two throttle valves per cylinder: in addition to the main valves, which are physically linked to the throttle grip and controlled by the rider, a second set of valves, opened and closed by the ECU, precisely regulates intake airflow to ensure a natural, linear response. With the air passing through the throttle bodies becoming smoother, combustion efficiency is improved and power is increased.

    ECONOMICAL RIDING INDICATOR

Using high-precision electronic control for engine management, Kawasaki models can achieve a high level of fuel efficiency.
However, fuel consumption is greatly affected by throttle use, gear selection, and other elements under the rider's control. The Economical Riding Indicator is a function that indicates when current riding conditions are consuming a low amount of fuel. The system continuously monitors fuel consumption, regardless of vehicle speed, engine speed, throttle position and other riding conditions.
When fuel consumption is low for a given speed (i.e. fuel efficiency is high), an "ECO" mark appears on the instrument panel's LCD screen. By riding so that the "ECO" mark remains on, fuel consumption can be reduced.
While effective vehicle speed and engine speed may vary by model, paying attention to conditions that cause the "ECO" mark to appear can help riders improve their fuel efficiency - a handy way to increase cruising range. Further, keeping fuel consumption low also helps minimize negative impact on the environment.

    KTRC (KAWASAKI TRACTION CONTROL)

KTRC, Kawasaki's advanced traction control system provides both enhanced sport riding performance and the peace of mind to negotiate slippery surfaces with confidence.
Multiple rider-selectable modes (the number of modes varies by model) offer progressively greater levels of intrusion to suit the riding situation and rider preference.

Less intrusive modes maintain optimum traction during cornering. Designed with sport riding in mind, they facilitate acceleration out of corners by maximizing forward drive from the rear wheel. And because Kawasaki's sophisticated software bases its dynamic analysis on the chassis' orientation relative to the track surface (rather than relative to a horizontal plane), it is able to take into account corner camber, gradient, etc., and adapt accordingly.

In the more intrusive modes (and for some models, in any mode), when excessive wheel spin is detected, engine output is reduced to allow grip to be regained, effectively enabling riders to negotiate both short, slippery patches (train tracks or manhole covers) and extended stretches of bad roads (wet pavement, cobblestone, gravel) with confidence.
Models equipped with IMU incorporate chassis-orientation feedback to offer even more precise management.

    KQS (KAWASAKI QUICK SHIFTER)

Designed to help riders maximize their acceleration on the track by enabling clutchless upshifts with the throttle fully open, KQS detects that the shift lever has been actuated and sends a signal to the ECU to cut ignition so that the next gear can be engaged without having to use the clutch. On models that offer clutchless downshifts, during deceleration the system automatically controls engine speed so that the next lower gear can be selected without operating the clutch.

    POWER MODES

Models equipped with multiple Power Modes offer riders an easily selectable choice of engine power delivery to suit riding conditions or preference. In addition to Full Power mode, one (Low) or two (Middle, Low) alternate mode(s) in which maximum power is limited and throttle response is milder are provided.

    RIDEOLOGY THE APP MOTORCYCLE

Clever technology enables riders to connect to their motorcycle wirelessly. Using the smartphone application "RIDEOLOGY THE APP MOTORCYCLE," a number of instrument functions can be accessed, contributing to an enhanced motorcycling experience. Vehicle information (such as the odometer, fuel gauge, maintenance schedule, etc.) can be viewed on the smartphone. Riding logs (varies by model, but may include GPS route, gear position, rpm, and other information) can be viewed on the smartphone. When connected, telephone (call, mail) notices are displayed on the instrument panel. Riders can also make changes to their motorcycle's instrument display settings (preferred units, clock and date setting, etc.) via the smartphone. And on certain models, it is even possible to check and adjust vehicle settings (such as Rider Mode, electronic rider support features, and payload settings) using the smartphone. Smartphone connectivity with voice command is available.

    ABS (ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM)

Kawasaki ABS systems use front and rear wheel sensors to constantly monitor wheel speed. Should information from either of the sensors indicate that wheel lock has occurred, the ABS ECU directs the pump in the ABS unit to modulate brake fluid pressure (releasing and reapplying pressure so that traction can be regained) until normal operation resumes. ABS offers rider reassurance that contributes to greater riding enjoyment.

KIBS (KAWASAKI INTELLIGENT ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM)

Kawasaki developed KIBS to take into account the particular handling characteristics of supersport motorcycles, ensuring highly efficient braking with minimal intrusion during sport riding. It is the first mass-production brake system to link the ABS ECU (Electronic Control Unit) and engine ECU.

In addition to front and rear wheel speed,KIBS monitors front brake caliper hydraulic pressure, throttle position, engine speed, clutch actuation and gear position. This diverse information is analyzed to determine the ideal front brake hydraulic pressure. Through precise control, hydraulic pressure is modulated in much smaller increments than with standard ABS systems. The system limits rear wheel lift under heavy braking and takes downshifting into account while braking, allowing the rider to manage the rear brake. And because of the finer control, kickback to the brake lever is minimal, resulting in a very natural feeling.

    636cc Inline-Four Engine

    At the heart of the 2027 Ninja ZX-6R ABS is Kawasaki's iconic 636cc liquid-cooled four-stroke inline-four engine.

The additional displacement compared with a conventional 599cc supersport is a defining part of the ZX-6R formula. Kawasaki specifically emphasizes the 636 engine's stronger low- and midrange torque, giving riders more usable acceleration during everyday street riding without sacrificing the high-rpm performance expected from a serious supersport.

That makes the ZX-6R especially well suited to:

    • Track days
    • Technical paved roads
    • Aggressive street riding
    • Highway riding
    • Corner-exit acceleration
    • Experienced sport riders

    Approximately 127 Horsepower

Current published specifications for the 2027 ZX636JVFAN list approximately 127 horsepower, while Kawasaki's prior official U.S. specifications for the same 636cc platform rate output at 127 horsepower at 13,000 rpm.

That output places the ZX-6R firmly in true supersport territory while retaining the lighter, more manageable character of a middleweight-class motorcycle.

    12.9:1 Compression Ratio

The engine uses a 12.9:1 compression ratio with a 67.0mm bore and 45.1mm stroke.

Its short-stroke design contributes to the high-revving character that makes the ZX-6R dramatically different from larger-displacement parallel-twin street motorcycles.

    DFI Electronic Fuel Injection

Kawasaki uses DFI electronic fuel injection with four 38mm throttle bodies and oval sub-throttles.

Electronic fuel injection helps provide precise fueling and crisp response throughout the engine's broad operating range.

    Ram Air Performance

The ZX-6R's supersport bodywork incorporates Ram Air induction, helping feed the inline-four engine as speed increases.

This design reflects Kawasaki's long history of incorporating racing-oriented intake technology into its Ninja ZX models.

    Six-Speed Transmission

Power is delivered through a six-speed return-shift transmission and chain final drive.

The close-ratio gearbox helps keep the engine in its strongest performance range during rapid acceleration and track riding.

    Assist & Slipper Clutch

A high-quality Assist & Slipper clutch reduces clutch-lever effort while helping manage excessive back-torque during aggressive downshifts. Kawasaki highlights the system as a way to preserve chassis stability and momentum entering corners.

    Kawasaki Quick Shifter

The ZX-6R includes Kawasaki Quick Shifter, or KQS.

The contactless-type system enables rapid clutchless upshifts by momentarily interrupting ignition as the next gear is selected.

    For performance riding, that means:

    • Faster gear changes
    • Smoother hard acceleration
    • Less interruption to chassis balance
    • More focused track riding

    Kawasaki Traction Control

    • Rain
    • Manual

The preset modes make it easier to change the motorcycle's behavior without individually adjusting every system.

    Kawasaki Intelligent Anti-Lock Brake System

Unlike the previously optimized ZX636KVFAN, ZX636JVFAN is an ABS model.

Kawasaki's official Owner Center specifically identifies the model code as a 2027 Ninja ZX-6R ABS, while current dealer listings show the bike equipped with Kawasaki Intelligent anti-lock Brake System, or KIBS.

KIBS is designed specifically around high-performance motorcycle braking rather than functioning as a basic standalone ABS system.

    Dual 310mm Front Brakes

The front braking system uses dual semi-floating 310mm discs with radial-mounted opposed four-piston monobloc calipers.

Kawasaki pairs the large rotors with a radial-pump front master cylinder to provide strong braking power and precise lever feel.

    220mm Rear Disc

A 220mm rear disc with a single-piston caliper and KIBS completes the braking package.

    Pressed-Aluminum Perimeter Frame

The Ninja ZX-6R uses a pressed-aluminum perimeter frame engineered around supersport rigidity and rider feedback.

This type of chassis helps deliver:

    • Precise corner entry
    • High-speed stability
    • Responsive direction changes
    • Strong front-end feedback
    • Track-focused handling

    Fully Adjustable Showa SFF-BP Fork

The front suspension uses a Showa Separate Function Fork – Big Piston, or SFF-BP.

Kawasaki lists the fork as fully adjustable, giving experienced riders the ability to tailor suspension behavior for street riding, track days, rider weight, tire selection, and personal preference.

    Fully Adjustable Uni-Trak Rear Suspension

At the rear, Kawasaki uses a Uni-Trak suspension system with progressive damping.

The system is adjustable and designed to help maintain rear-wheel traction under acceleration, cornering, and braking.

    Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV Tires

The 2027 ZX-6R uses Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV radial tires:

    • 120/70ZR17 front
    • 180/55ZR17 rear

These performance-oriented tires complement the motorcycle's sharp steering geometry, premium suspension, and powerful braking hardware.

    4.3-Inch Full-Color TFT Display

    The ZX-6R includes a 4.3-inch all-digital TFT color display.

The screen presents key riding information in a modern format while also supporting smartphone connectivity.

    Rideology Smartphone Connectivity

The TFT display supports Rideology THE APP MOTORCYCLE smartphone connectivity.

This brings connected functionality to the ZX-6R while preserving the focused cockpit expected from a supersport motorcycle.

    All-LED Lighting

Kawasaki equips the ZX-6R with all-LED lighting, including distinctive headlights and LED turn signals.

The sharp lighting complements its modern Ninja styling while improving visibility.

    Aggressive Ninja Styling

Kawasaki describes the ZX-6R's appearance as smooth-flowing supersport bodywork with an aggressive front profile.

    Design highlights include:

    • Distinct front and side cowls
    • Sport windscreen
    • LED headlights
    • Blacked-out engine covers
    • Black muffler body
    • Compact supersport tail section

    32.7-Inch Seat Height

The ZX-6R has a 32.7-inch seat height. Current 2027 dealer specifications confirm that figure for ZX636JVFAN.

Its rider triangle is considerably more aggressive than a standard or sport-touring motorcycle and is designed around high-performance control.

    55.1-Inch Wheelbase

The motorcycle uses a 55.1-inch wheelbase, combined with a sharp supersport chassis layout.

That compact wheelbase contributes to responsive direction changes while maintaining the stability required at higher speeds.

    Approximately 434-Pound Curb Weight

Current 49-state ZX636JVFAN listings show approximately 434.4 pounds curb weight for the ABS configuration.

Kawasaki defines curb weight as including operating fluids, fuel, and supplied equipment.

    4.5-Gallon Fuel Tank

    Fuel capacity is 4.5 gallons.

That provides useful street range while preserving the narrow proportions expected from a supersport motorcycle.

    2027 Factory Color Options

Kawasaki lists the 2027 Ninja ZX-6R in:

    • Lime Green
    • Metallic Spark Black / Metallic Flat Spark Black
    • Metallic Matte Twilight Blue
    • Galaxy Silver

The inventory slug ZX636JVFAN does not uniquely identify one color. For example, current ZX636JVFAN inventory appears in Metallic Spark Black / Metallic Flat Spark Black and Galaxy Silver.

For SEO accuracy, the exact color should be added to this listing once confirmed from the individual unit.
